My name is Chantal Sarji, the project manager of this blog. That’s a better title than “MBA Student”, right? …I thought so.
I am from North Carolina, but originally from Lebanon. I am a college graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Computer Science. ( I was the only girl in those computer science courses).
I will be a college graduate (again) with an MBA degree/IT concentration. Now, I have not been the only girl in all the IT courses, but I will say there were more males than females.
I work hard and am very passionate about the business and technology fields. I worked professionally in marketing and sales, but that was not for me. When I was in my software engineering class during my undergraduate studies, the whole class was required to complete a project (together). I was the first one to raise my hand with an idea for this project. “Let’s do something close to Amazon!” and the professor says, “Why don’t you be the leader of this project since you proposed it?”. I agreed. I was officially the product owner of a business intelligence marketing application and supervising all the boys! This semester-long project helped me realize that I have the ability and strength to be a leader and understand technical knowledge. I could inspire women that leadership and the tech industry is possible for us, too!
